6 Aug – Hits @ 0130 = 841337 = 9001.
I arose and headed for the computer @ 0740. I was checking on the MJTS, but nothing yet. I hope she hasn’t changed her mind before we even get a chance to submit our proposal, but it’s her vacation, whatever she wants.
I was checking out some of the blogs ahead of this one in Top Blogs of the Philippines. Most of them are good, but I don’t understand yet how they get so many hits in such a short time frame. Most of them seem to be from teenagers, so maybe it’s just that I don’t understand teenager thinking anymore, maybe I never did.
It’s 1:03pm now and it just started raining. Nothing much going on so far. I’m sitting around killing terrorists waiting on the MJTS to get loaded with requests. Ha! Wishful thinking.

Wow! It’s a boring day. I sure hope I came up with something to put here because at the time of writing the notes for this, I had nothing.
Let’s see … J did his laundry today, in the bathroom, in a basin.
I had 2 peanut butter sandwiches for breakfast and 3 of those fried potato, carrot and onion sandwiches for dinner. Those sandwiches do taste better without the carrots, but I need to use the carrots, and that is the best way for now. The only onions available around here recently, according to Lita, because I haven’t personally checked, is the little purple ones. Those are good, but they are so small I have to use like 4 or 5 of them to equal the same amount as one of the white onions. They don’t have the yellow onions that I have ever seen.

I’ve been drinking water and Mountain Dew all day.

At this time there still has been no further contact from our potential MJTS customer. Turns out that she wants to go to Suriago del Sur to see Tinuy-an Falls (the 3-tier waterfalls) and the Enchanted River. I asked her to tell me of any other place in the area she and her companions would like to visit. I could suggest a few places if she wanted me to, but so far, I’ve only gotten the 2 e-mails.
Victor (Judith’s husband) was born and raised in that area, so we have our tour guide. Plus, Jun (cousin in Tacloban) worked there for a few years. So we’ve got that covered. So if you were going to pick a place for a vacation that wasn’t in our normal package deal, this was one of the best ones to pick. In fact, I will be changing our flier a little bit.

Mar came by tonight to discuss this potential customer, and he informs me that he could actually set up trips to anyplace in the Philippines. Well almost anyplace. He says if it’s Davao or north of Davao, he can do it. He will not do tours to areas south of there because that is the probable danger areas. We even came up with the idea of a free day tour of the city you arrive at, but you’d have to leave late that afternoon or early evening, unless of course it’s set up ahead of time to get that tour and you already paid to stay overnight in that arrival city. If you prefer, you could have a free overnight stay in your arrival city, without the tour, so you can get a fresh start in the morning. Of course it’s still all set up before you even depart on your vacation.

I ‘recommended’ to her that that they arrive in Cebu if possible because the airport is faster to get through and the traffic in town is less. Also because if they decide to spend the night before continuing to the tourist sites, the Jungle Restaurant with it’s fire dancers would be a nice thing to see. We’ll be paying for the hotel and maybe even the food at the restaurant, so what’s there to lose. The Jungle Restaurant is owned by an American and his Filipina wife so he has a variety of foods there, which is good for someone who’s stomach is not ready for Filipino food yet.
Okay, that’s all I have for the 6th of August, however I do have more. I had so much information yesterday, that I kept some back because today looked like it might be low, and it was. The following is all I left out from yesterday so the times won’t jive with what I have written above. I might have left too much information, so I will leave one of the 3 sections for the post tomorrow, because it looks short too.

Precious was being “unprecious” again. This time towards her Yaya (Jascyl). Jascyl tried to get her to go to the house, but Precious refused and starting whining. Jascyl took a straw from the broom and used that to swat her on the arm with. It was barely enough to disturb a fly, but Precious screamed her head off. She did go, running. She stopped whining about 20 seconds later.
It looks and feels like I will be trying the new razor I bought at Mercury Drug the other day. I’m not sure if I will do it before I go to bed or in the morning. Heck, when I go to bed it will probably be ‘in the morning’ already anyway.
I did the weekly hit count. Through 6 Aug the average hits per day equal 8589.

Today in Philippine History
6 AUGUST
1907 – Gen. Macario Sakay, one of the Filipino military leaders who had continued fighting the imperialist United States invaders eight years into the Philippine-American War (1899-1914), is meted out the death sentence; essentially based on the ideals and principles of the underground-society-turned-revolutionary-government Kataastaasang, Kagalanggalangang Katipunan nang manga Anak nang Bayan (KKK) during the Philippine Revolution against Spain, Sakay had established theRepublika ng Katagalugan (entire Philippines) with a popularly backed guerrilla operations in Morong, Laguna, Cavite and Quezon in patriotic defiance of the colonial American government, was deceived by colonial Gov.-Gen. Henry Clay Ide who made it appear that Sakay’s his surrender was necessary to give way to the election of an all-Filipino Philippine Assembly legislature and also promised him and his supporters amnesty.
1898 – Generals Artemio Ricarte and Pio del Pilar express their misgivings to President Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy as to the real nature of American policy towards the Philippines; this as Aguinaldo issues a proclamation to the United States and all foreign governments explaining the nature and scope of the Revolutionary Government and the proclamation of country’s independence by provincial representatives, begging for the protection of all nations of the civilized world and beseeching their formal recognition of the state of belligerence and the independence of the Philippines;” by February 4 the following year, the imperialist-in-the-making Bald Eagle nation will instigate the bloody and protracted Filipino-American War (1899-1914) and will eventually successfully invade and occupy the Southeast Asian nation until 1946 when it will “grant” the Philippines independence (but not before ensuring its neocolonial status through through agreements and treaties aimed at manipulating and controlling Filipinos’ political and economic lives.
