I hope everyone is having a great life. Things around here have been doing okay recently. COVID still lingers but things are slowly improving. I still hope that things at least get back to what it was before that stupid virus showed up. People keep using the term “new normal” but I don’t like that term. I say we should get back to like it was and have the “option” to wear the mask if that’s something that concerns you. That would be more like a “new option” than a “new normal”. It’s better for the people to make their own decisions than it is for those decisions to be dictated to you.
We no longer need to wear face shields when going in the banks or pharmacies. We still need to wear our masks everywhere but things are lax about that. I always wear my mask downtown but if I go in a building that has the plexiglass or the man-made plastic shield between the workers and the customers and I’m the only customer, I take off my mask. I don’t wear my mask when I’m walking alone or with a family member either {with no one else around I mean}. I still don’t understand some of these restaurants that make you wear your mask when you come in. I mean you have to take your mask off to eat anyway. Just seems silly to me.
A winter storm warning in ?? Hawaii?? Possible winds up to 100 miles per hour and 12″ of snow. That’s unusual.
I figured out something the other day. It’s probably something obvious to some though. I figured out why my legs sometimes swell up when I sit at my computer table. First of all sitting here all day is not a good thing, but the bigger problem was that my chair has to be so low and it pinches my thighs on the chair. That cuts off the blood circulation and causes my legs and fee to swell. I can’t make the chair higher because it’s a desk and I won’t fit if the chair is high. I need to get a computer “desk” where I can put the chair higher and I don’t have to worry about it. If I stay alert for it, I can avoid the swelling. Sometimes I really get into what I’m doing and I forget all about it until they start to swell. I can have a computer desk made to any design I want. It would not cost that much here. The material way more than the labor. It’s not a real priority but I should get that taken care of pretty soon. I have a birthday next month. Maybe I can convince my wife that could be my birthday present. I just thought about that. I’ll let you know if all goes well.
We had a bit of good news hear yesterday. It seems that Mango will start having a live band there again. Actually starting tonight their house band will be performing. I don’t know how long they will be there but it’s supposed to be starting at 6 pm. I told Christian weeks ago that when he gets the band back, I will be there their first night from the beginning and stay until they quit. That’s just what I plan to do. It’s a good band and they play a lot of 60s, 70s and 80s rock music. I believe that, for now, the band will only be on Saturday nights. Before all this COVID crap there was a band there at least twice a week and sometimes 3 times. I’ll ask the relatives here if they want to go also but I doubt anyone will. They are all sticks in the mud sometimes. I’ll try to enjoy myself regardless of if any of them go or not.
I still have not been to either of the new businesses here, Citi Hardware and J&F Marketing. My wife still plans to get a new stove {with oven} and is thinking about getting a microwave. We’ve last over 11 years without a microwave but I’ll admit some things would have been easier with one. The stove I keep thinking I want an electric stove, but I doubt they have those here. I will make sure they tell me how to make the oven work when/if we get a new stove though. I think we should get one western or a little closer to western sized also. Anyway, when I finally do get around to visiting those new businesses I will do my best to remember to bring my camera to take some pictures, maybe even a video.
Okay, enough for this entry. I have several other topics to inform you and hopefully discuss but if I save those then I will be sure to do another post soon.
