I woke up this morning feeling much better than I did when I went to bed last night. If you remember the last post, I said I’d probably be in bed by 10:00, I was in bed at 9:30. I was so tired from all I did that day. I did wake up to a problem though. My internet was down.
I couldn’t figure out why it was down so I just figured it was an outage. After a while it came across my screen that I was down because I did not pay for this month yet. Oh yeah! I need to do that. Nening had to go downtown to make a few stops so she added an extra one and stopped by to make that payment for me. Just past 10:00 am my internet was back.
I just thought about it, I had another stop for Nening also. I need to get my medication. I only had enough for this morning. I have to take the new one (for my leg) twice per day. Plus I do not have all of what I need for in the morning. I knew that in the last post, I just had too many other things to think about. Maybe I’ll go downtown early this afternoon to get all those meds.
Today is also the day that the smoked ham and smoked pastrami will be delivered. I have not paid for that yet. No smoked ribs so it’s going to cost me about P6000 for all the meat I buy today. Maybe a little less. I’m going to try to get to Mango early and pick out the ones I want, some that may be slightly less than 1 kilo each, thus saving a little bit of money. Supposedly the hams come in 800 grams to 1 kilo and the pastrami starts at 500 grams. I’ll look for all 4 of mine around the 800 gram area. I need to pay Mango money anyway. I’ll just take care of all that at once, plus it’s Games Day so I’ll hang around and maybe get a few games of cribbage, pool, dominoes and/or chess in.
It’s a nice, bright, sun-shine day. I guess that typhoon is long gone. We did not get a direct hit but we did get quite a bit of rain and some nice, cool, breezy wind from it.
I was just talking with one of my cousins in the US. She just had an operation because she had cancer on and around one of her kidneys. It looks like they got it all but she’s still in there and waiting on a pathology report to be certain. She, at first, that she was having a heart attack but that came back with no problem. The scar she will have is larger than the one I got from my kidney donation back in 1995.
It’s 1:35 pm. I just got back from Mango, waiting on the man with the meat. He never showed up. No one else showed up either that knew anything about the meat man even showing up at all. Hopefully I will be contacted when/if he does show up. I got tired of waiting especially since there was no one there to play cribbage, Scrabble, cards or anything else.
This morning I put some of the compression socks on. I’m still waiting for the ones the doctor in Cebu ordered for me. The ones I have are a bit tighter than need be. Even though the right foot gets a little larger than the left foot these days, the right one does not swell when I wear the socks. The left one still does, at least around the ankle area. It’s getting to be too tight and I’m going to have to take it off. Since I don’t want to walk around with 1 sock on, I’ll take them both off. Tomorrow I’m going to try putting on regular socks (nylon socks) and if that keeps them from swelling I’ll just wear those until the medical socks arrive. Man, this left one is difficult to get off, but I got it. Got them both off now.
I’m kind of tired, I’m older now and love to nap. I’m going to sleep for a while and hopefully the meat man will not arrive until after I wake up. If he comes and goes, oh well. Hopefully next time.
I’m going to schedule this for tomorrow, not today. That means some of this will be out of context, but I don’t feel like going back to correct it all.
