Okay, so I need to explain what I was talking about in the last post of the monies made from the refreshments at the movies going to Mango and/or Mango employees. Christian is an interesting person. He believes that his employees should learn how to make money in addition to their job. He helps them by giving them ideas and advice and even has a savings plan set up with them. One of the employees, has a side business of selling Coke, Sprite and orange soda and he also sells trail mix. All this he is allowed to do while at work and Christian does not take any money from it nor does he sell any soda or nuts to rival him. Christian just asks for update on how he is doing and ‘suggests’ that he deposit part of that income into his savings account. He likes helping, they like saving and everyone is happy with the way it is set up.
So, the soda sold at the movies will belong to this employee. Another employee should be selling popcorn and maybe candy. Christian has hot dogs on his menu, so that is not an option for the employees. Beer and nachos are also not an option. I’m sure they will have it all worked out before the first movies start. I’m anxious to get started.
I found out that I will become a ninong (godfather) again. I’m not saying who yet, but it should be in about 9 months. So, in July. My son’s birthday is July 2nd, so that would be a good day, or July 4th, of course. Obviously, I have no control over the due date, but I can always hope. I hope there will not a big ceremony for it. I do not own any clothes for fancy get-togethers. I do have long pants now, but they are more like sweatpants, although they are very good quality ones. They might be good enough. It depends on just how fancy the parents want their function to be.
Just finished my lunch (it’s 1:57 pm). I’m on a new thing now. I only eat twice per day, and I only eat between noon and 6 pm. I try to not eat so dang much on either of the meals. Supposedly, doing that along with walking, will help me lose weight. That is the one thing for me that I need to do. If I controlled my weight, then the blood pressure and gout would probably go away. Then I would be a healthy ‘older man’.
That little massage thing I got for my feet I don’t like very much. I wasn’t expecting much, since it was only P208 ($3.78) including delivery, but it doesn’t really do anything for me. Maybe I’ll give it to Titing, he has much smaller feet, maybe he’ll be able to feel the vibration more. It charges via USB so he would not have to worry about having to buy batteries all the time.
I have not been walking the past couple of days, but I plan to go in the morning (Sunday) and Tuesday morning. Not on Monday morning because I will be up most of the night watching football on the computer. Actually, if I get up early in the morning (around 0330) I probably will watch a college football game also. I’m debating on whether it will be BYU @ TCU or #8 Oregon at #7 Washington. The TCU Horned Frogs are my favorite college team, although I like all the Texas teams. At halftime of that game, I will go for my walk (it should be around 0500) and I’ll see the ending when I return before taking my shower. My walk has been taking about an hour to do. I still need to figure out exactly how far the route is.
Okay, enough for this post. I hope it was entertaining enough for you. If all goes as planned at Mango, soon we will be going on some excursions, and I’ll have more things to write about. Plus, movie night and events that we want to do at Mango at least once per month. I could have lots to talk about pretty soon. If I could get my wife to take a little trip, that would add to the stories. Traveling to Texas is what I really want to be able to talk about, but that’s not happening until we get enough money to go. Or at least I get enough to go. I think she would be happy to stay here and let me go by myself for a month or so.
