A new guy showed up at Mango today. His name is Lance and I forget his wife’s name (nice legs though). He is from Texarkana, Texas and lives on San Antonio Island, which is up north of here. I’ve been there a couple of times, with 2 different experiences. The first one, many years ago, was a mosquito infested night. The 2nd time was not near as bad, but they were just developing the resort we were staying at. It would probably be a much better time there now. They will be around until December so maybe he’ll be coming to Mango on Wednesdays to meet the other expats.
Of course, I had another cribbage day at Mango. It didn’t start out so well, but it got better in the middle. I ended on a 2-game losing streak. The first one I lost after I was leading by about 50 points (game is only to 121). Still, I won 8 of 12 games overall.
It’s Sunday night. That normally means I need to go to bed early so I can be up for the football games starting at 1 am. However, this week, again, they have a game in London, which starts, our time, at 9:30 pm. I’m not sure how I’m going to handle that yet. My Cowboys do not come on until Monday Night (Tuesday morning here), so that’s not going to be a problem. The Houston Texans are playing the early game again. It seems like they always play the early game. If I could get some rest now, I would do it, but I can’t. My wife has the tv blaring too loud. I’ll figure it out. How ever I do it, it’s not the end of the world if I miss a game or two.
My Around the World in 80 Days game score is now 36,702,095 with 306 extra lives. Still a long way to 100,000,000 points and 1000 extra lives. I’m on Journey 71, Day 3. That means I have already beaten this game 70 times. It’s different every time though, so it’s not boring.
I have a design for a house I’d like to build here, if we ever sell this property. I think it’s a nice-looking house. It’s only 1 story because we are getting too old to be climbing stairs. It’s 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and has a screened in porch so we can sit and watch without getting eaten by mosquitoes. I also made sure we had a living room (we don’t have one now). Maybe in the middle of the night she will watch tv in there instead of blaring it in the bedroom when I’m trying to sleep. It also has a computer room and a large kitchen/dining area. We would probably only have 100 square meters to build on, but it will fit. I’d like more acreage so we can have a little garden, but I’m not sure how that is going to come about right now.
That little foot massager thing I bought, I don’t like. I gave it to Nening. I saw another one that I could get from Amazon, costing $65, that you wrap around your calf, like a blood pressure cup. I’m thinking of getting that next month. In the meantime, I’m trying to remember to keep my compression socks on a lot. Nening helped me put them back on this morning and they are still on. After every walk, I’d have to take them off to put in the dirty clothes, but that’s why I have 6 pairs of them.
I was just looking at my Amazon cart. I’m thinking of order that massager, 6 pairs of silk socks (because they feel better on my feet) and the safari hat I want. The other shirts and shorts can wait until next time. Maybe I’ll even order another set of underwear. After I get that order in, Nening and I will be organizing my clothes cabinet. All the clothes that I do not wear, will be put in plastic bags and put off to the side.
I suppose that, after walking in the morning, I need to take a shower, lay down with my feet elevated for a while (so the swelling will go down) and then get Nening to help me with the socks. She doesn’t mind helping because I always pay her extra at the beginning of each month.
I’m going to try to lay down. Hopefully she’ll turn the tv down some and I can get a couple of hours sleep.
