Yesterday (Wednesday) was Expat Day at Mango. I was late getting there because I was sitting on my computer waiting for the Green Bay DEF to become available so I could get them back on my Yahoo Fantasy Football team. I dropped them the other day, for what reason I don’t know, and I could not get them back until they cleared waivers. I’m glad none of the other teams decided to claim them. I wasn’t sure what time they would become available, but I thought it would be no later than 1 pm (our time). However, that was wrong. I didn’t want to wait any longer, so I got out my phone and used it for a computer (which I rarely do). Thankfully, they have good WIFI at Mango and I was able to finally get them back. I’ll have to remember that the time off waivers is after 3 pm (our time).
At Mango, for lunch, I had the new version of the fajitas. They have just been making them for you, but I explained that is not how fajitas are supposed to work. Now they come out on a sizzling plate with the sides of red sauce, pico de gallo and 3 tortillas (he put mayo on the tortillas, I’ll have to talk to him about that, although it wasn’t so bad). It was a good portion of fajitas, and I was able to really stuff all 3 tortillas. The price is P300 (about $5.45). He only has chicken fajitas for now but is thinking of getting beef ones also. You have to get the right beef around here or it will be too tough to chew. He is also thinking of making a double order for couples and a massive order for groups/parties. I’d order it for a party.
Also in discussion is a Mexican Day, probably once a month. He says the new menu will be out on 18 October and it will have the fajitas, quesadillas and enchiladas on it. That’s in addition to the tacos, burritos and nachos he already has on there. I think I will challenge him with making a good tamale next. We all know that the best place to get the best tamales is in an abandoned parking lot from the trunk of an old Mexican person, but we don’t have that here. Christian did well with the other Mexican food I challenged him with, so I’m thinking he could do the same with tamales. My wife would also like for him to make the Mexican Menudo (made with tripe). I don’t like it, but she loves it.
I played a lot of cribbage while there again. Not a good day for me in cribbage. I played about a dozen games and only won once. On one game, I was counting first; and I only needed 1 point to win. I had a zero hand and Christian had enough to go out. Such bad luck, but I don’t play for money, and I don’t mind losing. It’s just a game. It’s nice to win and you get a little bit of bragging rights, but nothing to get upset about.
Oh, this is enough for this post. I will be writing another one to be posted shortly. Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it.
