CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar, March 5 (PIA)– The Panoypoy Agrarian Reform Communities (ARC) of Oquendo District, Calbayog City has been granted potable and safe water supply system in response to their long time plaint for safe and potable water.
To ensure the successful implementation of the project, Pax Roxas, agrarian reform officer; Calbayog Mayor Ronaldo Aquino; and Pedro Abajo of the Panoypoy Multi-purpose cooperative penned an agreement on February 26 to support CP WASH.
The mayor committed an amount as counterpart to the project. Aquino said that if the project implementation is successful, the technology will be replicated in other potential barangays needing the project.
During the MOA signing, Joel Abaloyan, engineer and WASH coordinator, said that anytime in March this year, a technical staff from the Philippine Center for Water and Sanitation will be coming to the area to conduct a nine-day training on technology transfer and installation of the system for the beneficiaries to become para-engineers.
