CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar, Aug. 19 (PIA) — Rosales Bridge in Calbayog City will be officially opened to light vehicles plying along San Juanico-San Isidro Bridge in Samar on August 20, the Samar First Engineering District Office (SFDEO) announced.

Engineer Enrico �Cobacha SFDEO added that the contractor, ACME Builders Corporation, is presently working on the construction of the sidewalks and railings of the bridge thus prohibiting heavy vehicles like cargo or ten-wheeler trucks and the like to ply along the said bridge to avoid accidents.

Rosales Bridge which is located at Daang Maharlika in Calbayog City, has been closed to traffic for almost �a year due to major repairs. With its closure, the traffic was detoured to a somewhat circuitous route.

“Mas maupay na inin yana, dire na malangan kay makakadiretso na an mga auto,” (This will be better for us, less travel time spent as traffic will not be stalled anymore), said a driverr �of Eaglestar, a bus company that ferries Samarnons passengers to Luzon.

In related news, DPWH Central Office visited the engineering district to assess the development of some construction in the area.
