It’s Sunday, Nov 7th and it’s almost 7 am. I’ve been up about an hour checking on my messages and fantasy football teams. I also received the pandesal (Filipino bread rolls) that one of my nephews goes to pick up each morning and I made coffee. I will have 4-6 pandesal with tomatoes this morning, although that’s what I had yesterday. We have some good tomatoes and I want to use them before they get rotten. After that I will start eating the cereal that I have (Corn Flakes, Special K and Fitnesse). Yeah I like the cereals with no sugar in them. We also have some Frosted Flakes in there but that is cereal that my wife wanted.
I have no special plans for today except to try to go to bed early and wake up around 4 am to start watching NFL games. A lot of the games actually come on at 1 am but I find when I do that I usually have a hard time making it through the Sunday night game and the Cowboys play this Sunday night against Denver. I want to watch that one.
Yesterday I received the coffee I ordered online through Lazada. I ordered some Hazelnut/Vanilla coffee and it cost (including shipping) P650 ($13). It was 1 kilo (2.2 pounds) so I thought that was a pretty good deal. They also sent me a small, single cup sample of some macadamia nut coffee. I know about that flavor already, but it’s free so that’s good.
Also yesterday I figured out how to activate my Lazada Wallet and that return I had, which they promptly refunded, was officially ready to be used to buy something else. I said was because I also ordered a new board yesterday. Actually it turns out that the new board costs less and it has more features. I still have slightly over P425 left in my Wallet. Another thing I accomplished with Lazada yesterday was to cancel something I no longer wanted. Once I figured out how to contact them it was simple to cancel. I tried to cancel last week but the option no longer existed. I contacted the seller but they said they could not cancel either (although that’s what I was advised to do). The Lazada Customer Service guy did all the paperwork and even sent me an e-mail letting me know exactly what he did. If the item does show up all I have to do is refuse delivery and it will be sent back, no problems. I am happy about all that.
I need to get my eyes checked. The past week or so they have been different. Sometimes when wearing my computer glasses it looks like something is running across the lens. Today, while at Mango, it looked like it was a little cloudy. That really bothered me. They are not like that at the moment but I’m still going to get them checked, probably tomorrow.
8 Nov. I went by to see and eye doctor but couldn’t see one (ironic). The first place I went to they do not have a doctor for that anymore. The 2nd place was so crowded. I think it was for the welfare people. I may just try to find a different one tomorrow. I’ll ask some of the relatives for another Optometrist tomorrow. Otherwise it was a pretty pointless day. I did buy some lottery tickets on the way home today. Who knows maybe it will turn out to be my lucky day. The drawing is at 9:00 pm. I usually check any numbers I may have (I don’t really buy that often) after 10 pm to make sure they have time to post the numbers.
It’s now 8:50 pm and I just finished my bowl of chicken noodle soup. Almost time to check my lottery numbers.
I have a hand drawn sketch (I drew it) of a house I’d like to build. Unless we sell the property we have now we could never afford to buy new property and build another house. We don’t really want to move but if SM Mall still insists on building here, we have no choice. She don’t really want to move and I like it here alright. A new house built the way I’d like for it to be would be nice though. I made the dirty kitchen far away from the computer room. That way I would not have to smell the dried fish (and other stinky things) when they cook it. I’d have a larger computer room also.
I have been thinking about putting a Live Chat on this blog. I was thinking that if I interreacted with the readers then maybe it would inspire me to write more. I could also find out what kind of information that y’all are looking for and maybe even answer some questions for you. What do y’all think about that? I’m going to figure out how to do a poll and find out if y’all want to do that. I mean I’m at the computer at least 12 hours per day, most days, so interreacting with y’all sounds like a good way to pass the time.
Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day. I am going to bring my bottle of wine to Mango today so they can put it in their cooler until tomorrow afternoon. I will also confirm that I want to have a meat & cheese platter for all to share. I hope someone else will follow suit and buy at least 1 more platter and a couple more bottles of wine.
It’s Wednesday. I’m back from Mango now. I got a little bit drunk but nothing serious. More tipsy than drunk. I did have my burger, no bun, no fries. It was a 3 patty burger and I think I will limit to no more than 2 patties from now on. We had at least 6 expats show up today, plus 2 wives. I’m hoping for at least that many tomorrow for Veteran’s Day. One other guy is supposed to show up and he said he would also purchase a meat & cheese platter. That’s 2 and that will probably be enough, depending on how many show up but I don’t anticipate that many will be there because some of the guys are not here, they are out of town.
I’m still doing upgrades on the blog so there may be some hiccups. Please don’t give up on me if you are having trouble at the moment. I think that Live Chat is going to happen but I’m just not sure if I really need it or not. I guess it’s something we will see.
I guess I’ll close this one for now. I think I should go take a nap anyway.
Salamat Y’all
I like the live chat idea, but I think it might be complicated and troublesome to run. An alternative thought is, start a group in Facebook Messenger. You can control who joins it and it works live with anyone who is online at the time, or else holds the messages going to people not online at the moment.
You can start a group in Messenger? I didn’t know that. I know you can start a group in FB but not in Messenger. I’ll check into that. I do have a FB page for the website but I have not looked into having a chat in there. I don’t visit it much right now. I guess if I did have a chat in there I’d have to be there everyday.
Yes, it seems to work great. My wife and her sisters have several groups (depending on whom they want to share chismis with, LoL) And my wife and. I have a group just to chat with certain family and friends in the USA regarding our house hunting in Florida.
