A P10-million flood control rehabilitation on a 96-meter embankment along Bantian Creek in Calbayog, Samar has been completed recently, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Friday.
The DPWH reported the rehabilitation and improvement of the flood control structure “that would save lives and properties of residents in the low-lying barangay of Bantian in Calbayog, province of Samar” has been completed under “a total budget allotment of P10 million from the 2018 General Appropriations Act (GAA).”
Under that budget, according to DPWH-Samar First District Engineer Alvin Ignacio, the DPWH constructed a 96-meter embankment to complement the existing structure along Bantian Creek.
