The walk this morning seemed easier. I’m not sure why. I wasn’t even sure we would get to walk earlier that morning because it was raining so hard. It quit though and we did not experience any rain at all and a surprisingly low number of puddles. I measured the walk with a computer app and it turns out that we are walking approximately 5k each morning these days. Well, from the front of my house back to the front of my house is 4.985k but we do walk a little bit more than to and from the Mango Lounge area. I’m sure that the last part is more than .015k. I’ll try to get Mark to measure the distance in his car to get a more accurate reading.
This morning I went to The Islander for coffee and bacon. The bacon is for Lita because I will not be eating any bacon this week, at all. I still figure that I gained weight on this last weigh-in mostly due to the amount of bacon I ate last week. That won’t be happening this week. I had my grits this morning and will continue to have them 4 or 5 times per week for the foreseeable future. For the other breakfasts I will probably have my pandesal and tomatoes but I will not be adding the bacon, sausage or ham to it anymore. At least not until I achieve my desired weight, which still stands at 210 pounds or 95 kilos.
My Filipino niece Dayday showed up again this morning, just like yesterday. She is cleaning her Aunt Judith’s house upstairs. She is doing it for extra money because she no longer has a job, her husband goes to school and they have 5 children to feed. She is supposed to open her restaurant back up but when she went in to survey it, it was flooded. The landlord said it will be next month before she can get it fixed, but she did say earlier this month that it would be sometime this month. So who really knows when it will get completed. I was thinking of starting a Go Fund Me page for her. It’s only a one time thing but it sure would help them get over their financial problems until the store is able to be opened again. Okay, I decide to open the Go Fund Me page. Here is the link Dayday and Family Go Fund Me. I hope some of you will be able to donate even a little bit. I will be one of the first, if not the first, to donate.
I made a music disk for Mango Lounge. It seems that the one I made for the 4th of July was a pretty big hit, except some people did not like some of the country twang. They said I could keep the other songs on there and add some more classic rock. That’s what I did. I now have a thumb drive with 222 songs on it. Most of the songs are classic rock and I tried to get a variety of different bands/singers. I’m going to double check it today before giving it to them. I want to make sure of my song selections and get out most with that country twang. I’ll probably keep a couple of twangy ones in there.
Salamat Y’all
